Question:I have a great cookie recipe but it calls for brown sugar (not vegan). What can I use instead that will have the same effect and/or come close to the same flavor?Answer:Maple sugar crystals. This is basically maple syrup in powder form. Texture wise it is like brown sugar. Health wise, this is a more conscious choice to make. If you are a die hard vegan, you do not run the risk of having a sugar that often is processed by methods using animal byproducts. |
