Do toddlers need to drink formula? My son is 16 months old. -- Janis

Until the age of one, a child needs breastmilk or formula to have proper growth. After age one, the child does not officially need either breastmilk or formula. However, continuing to breastfeed past a year is certainly beneficial to any child. After the age of one, if you're not breastfeeding, it's important to make sure your child is getting his proper vitamins and nutrients.
