Ear infection

Hi all! My dh has and ear infection and we don't want to go to the doctors because we know they'll prescribe anitbiotics and my husband refuses to take them. I was wondering if anyone had a home remedy for ear infections? It would be a great help. Thank-you!

As a kid (and still as an adult if I'm not careful), any time I swim in a public space (lake, or even chlorinated pool) I always got ear infections. My mom used to put a drop or two of alcohol in my ear to evaporate the fluid and to kill any bacteria.
