I have recently become vegetarian and am having trouble with working out a balanced diet. Can anybody help me out with information on examples for eating plans and the recommended dietary intakes for all the vitamins and minerals is should be getting each day. Any good websites would be useful
Thanks

Two words for ya... Becoming Vegetarian by Brenda Davis and Vesanto Melina.
Or, if you want to go vegan, then Becoming Vegan is your answer.
Good luck to you!

Those books are definitely great. I have Becoming Vegan, and it is a wonderful resource on how to get all the nutrients your body needs. Also check out the Physicians Committe for Responsible Medicine at www.pcrm.org (http://www.pcrm.org). There is a good deal of helpful information there also. The Vegetarian Way is also a good resource...I forget the authors' names at the moment though. Best wishes on the switch to a veg diet. This is a great board for support.

I would recommend taking VegLife SpectroVeg multis, which is part a line of 100% vegan vitamins and minerals - they have Calcium, Magnesium, D, C, E, etc. separately. There is a Vegan One multivitamin, a "MultiVeg" multivitamin and then the "SpectroVeg High energy" which I take.
Check out their website for info and to find where its sold:

I get mine at Whole Foods. Your local health food store can always order them as well.
I eat a very balanced diet of raw and cooked fruits and veggie, grains, and beans but I also take these to make sure. You're supposed to take 6 of the High Energy but since I eat such a good diet, I only take 3 a few times a week.
