Hi Lilohazel,
I'm not AA but my best friend is. I'll ask her what she uses for her hair. She doesn't use makeup and her skin is always perfect !(Grrrr....!!!)
I'll bet there are at least a few things that would work.
Also, there is a makeup company called Zuzu that is 100% vegan. I should be at a pharmacy today that has their makeup. I know they have a variety of shades. I'll look to see how dark they get.
Cheers!

I don't think this company has started selling products yet, but it looks like it could just what you're looking for when they do launch their product line:
www.inkygirlbeauty.com
It would be great to sign up for their mailing list and let them know there's a demand for these products.

Also, an friend of mine who is part AA, part Cherokee, uses Mother's Special Blend Oil on her hair, and it always looks beautiful. This is a blend of oils meant for new or nursing mothers to help against stretch marks, etc. but it is great on your skin and she'd rub a light coating on her hair after washing it - it gave great shine without being greasy and helped the texture.

I agree that Inkygirl looks great. What an idealistic girl (in a good way.) I hope that it gets off the ground and does really well!
I went to the pharmacy today and Zuzu's powder and foundation go from very light to a medium brown. Generally, people use a shade that's a bit lighter than their real skin tones, so unless you have very dark skin these might work well. If your skin is darker, than I think that Inky girl sounds like it would work better - I think Zuzu should have made at least one darker tone. Maybe they do and the pharmacy doesn't carry it.
Good luck!

PikkuMyy, do you have any idea where I can get hold of the oil you mentioned earlier, Mother's Special Blend, is it? Sounds like a really good thing to try on my fried-to-a-crisp hair.
Hi,
There are some really great products called Taliah Waajid. The products are all natural. You can read more about them at www.blackearthproducts.com.
