I caught an ad on the main section of VegFamily for Soy Delicious. It said something about a free ice cream social. So I clicked on the ad and there was a form you can fill out and Soy Delicious will send free ice cream to your child's school. It was a little confusing, but the way I understand it is that they will donate ice cream for events or fundraisers and schools qualify for this. I'm really excited since if I can get this set up at my daughter's school then everyone gets free vegan ice cream and for once my daughter can actually participate in an event.

What a great way to make other families aware of non-dairy ice cream alternatives. Anyway, just wanted to see if anyone else was signing their school up. Here is the link to the application form if anyone is interested.

Thanx for bringing this to our attention. I missed it on the site. My kids' school and our church are having ice cream socials in about a month (separate events), so this is so timely. This time, my kids and I will be able to participate without me having to bring the ice soy with us! Yeah!

God's Peace,
Gayle

Hurry and sign up because they need 3 weeks notice.

I can't wait to do this at Emily's school.

Hi Everyone,
We signed up for a social in Aug. We were giving the samples away at our 2nd annual softball tournament to benefit MS. It went really well! The SD people sent us (packed in dry ice) vanilla, choc, and peanut butter ice cream sandwiches, they thought this would be easier since we had over 300 people!
The also sent a t-shirt and baseball cap (my 16yr old wore the shirt and my 3yr took the cap as they passed out the sandwichs)
And we also received a large poster to put up at the table and a ton of coupons to pass out as well.
It was a great experience and the Soy Delicious people were friendly and helpful every step of the way.
If anyone is thinking about doing this I would highly recommend it!

We signed Emily's preschool up for an ice cream social too and it went splendidly. I picked up quarts of their ice cream at the store about 30 minutes before "show time" using coupons they sent me so I wouldn't have to pay. We scooped and scooped and those kids kept trying to sneak back in line for more. None of them realized it wasn't cow's ice cream. And the teachers were amazed at the wonderful flavor! I know I made a few converts out of the teachers that day.

Soy Delicious is not currently offering the social on this site, but maybe if they heard from enough of us, they would consider offering it again. It's a great way to share vegan ice cream with people.
