My friend who lives in Chicago took her husband to see Peaceable Kingdom 2 weeks ago and he converted immediately from a die-hard carnivore to vegan. This was a man who did not support his wife's decision to be vegetarian even let alone her recent attempts to become vegan. I've been giving them as much advice as possible like websites, good vegan products etc. but she is finding it really difficult to find vegan options in Chicago. They did try the Chicago Diner last night and weren't too impressed and having been eating ethnic foods. She also bought the cookbook, Vegan Vittles. Anyone else have suggestions that I can pass along to help ease her husband's conversion? He works long hours and needs items that are non-perishable that he can eat at work that are very filling plus they need more basic information regarding veganism. Her husband actually thought that vegans ate fish.
