Hi,
I went from consuming a carnivore diet to strictly vegan one month ago after reading The Food Revolution. What an eye opener!! Never thought I could give up the milk and steaks, but now the thought of it makes me sick. My question is this: Since changing my diet so radically, my face and neck have been breaking out with acne (very unusual for me except for a couple of pimples at that time of the month) and (excuse me for being indelicate) I have a lot of intenstinal gas. Is this normal???? I thought I would feel so much better and just be glowing with health since I'm eating so many good veggies and grains! I've even been cooking with Tofu! Someone help!! Any replies will be appreciated!

Im sending a link to a newsletter that may answer one of your questions..lol
Its from Dr McDougall's website. I hope it helps! Keep up the good work and know that any "uncomfy" changes should fade off..well..except the gas part..lol..as you will read in Dr McDougals newsletter.

Yes, don't worry. Especially if you've been eating meat and dairy for a while it takes the body a while to detox. Your body now has the time and available resources to remove toxins it's been hanging on to for years.

Keep on going, it gets better!

What you are going through is not only normal, but totally desirable! Just imagine all those toxins exiting your body, and in another little while you WILL be glowing with good health. Congratulations for making this positive change, and good luck!

After I "detoxed" my skin was really clear and smooth, including my elbows! I'd never had soft, baby-smooth skin on my elbows.

Also, my eyes cleared up. Several people commented that my eyes were very clear, as though a film had been lifted. Who knew?

Also, my nails got really strong.

I also started looking younger. Once I was in Las Vegas and this cashier was convinced I was under 21 and thought my ID was a fake. I said, "Me?" Incredulously! I wasn't wearing any make up or anything. I said, "Oh my goodness. I'm 32 years old!" She said, "Honey, have you looked at yourself in a mirror lately?"

I was SO flattered. :D
