Hi everyone,

My 2 year old duaghter has been vegan for about 2 months now.

I took her off meat dairy and everything when I discovered that she had a rash on her bottom, which wouldnt go away with creams.

I thought that she may be allergic to dairy.

she has since got the rash back.

Any ideas.

Maybe she is allergic to somthing, can a get her tested and how.

Help

Michelle

It might be a yeast rash. My daughter had a strange, horrible rash on her genitals that didn't respond to creams. She was so uncomfortable. I took her to the doc and she took one look and said yeast infection! Had no idea young babies could get yeast infections.

We put Lotrimin or something on it and it cleared right up. Maybe that's what's going on with your baby. Not sure.

I agree with Erin. Yeast. And if you are nursing her watchout for yeast on you. Good luck and let us know what it is! VM

My daughter got a rash on her bottom and face, it turned out she was intolerant to soy and salicylates, the rash cleared up when we changed her diet. It's probably a good idea to rule out other types of rashes with your doctor, then perhapes you can get her allergy tested

Hi everyone,

thanks for your reply's. I have taken her to the doctors, who has sent off a water sample to be tested.

Antibiotics he says.

I still feel that there may be a intolerance as well.

Do you think that I can get this done in the complementary medicine field?

Maybe try an elimination diet? The most common food allergens are cow's milk (which you've already eliminated), soy, wheat, citrus, and chocolate. See if this works, and if it does, gradually add foods back till you see symptoms return.
Peace,
Maggie
