I thought I remembered someone posting here about one in CT, or perhaps I was thinking of Veggy Works in NJ?

The director of the wildlife rehab where I volunteer is from there and veggie. She'd like to know what places are around when she goes to visit her family. I don't remember what city they live in, so just name some if you know them.

Thanks!

Tell her to check out www.vegdining.com - it's a good place to start.

We used to bring my husband's grandparents (who lived in the Bronx) to the Fairfield Diner and Vegetarian Enclave. Sounds weird but it is a standard roadside diner right of of Route 95 (exit 25, if heading northbound bear right off of exit and it is on the right). For some reason, the diner has a selection of vegan appetizers, entrees and even a few desserts. I recommend the tempeh reuben and I'm not a huge fan of tempeh. They have another branch in Guilford, CT called the Shoreline Diner. There is also a vegan place in Bridgeport, CT that I've never been to but is highly recommended called Bloodroot. It is also a feminist bookstore.

i second Fairfield Diner & Vegetarian Enclave, its great. I remembered driving to boston when I was 17 saying "wouldnt it be great if they had a diner that offered vegan stuff?" and then off to the right side of 95 i noticed the huge billboard! It's rad, and has great regular diner hours... I reccomend the ravioli's, however I have not been there in years so the menu may have changed.
