I'd like to know what your kids love to eat. Maybe give and get some ideas! Please post the recipes! So far, I think my dd's favourite is Breakfast Cookies. She likes that she can eat cookies for breakfast, and as a snack during the day. I found these at a website, but I can't remember which one.
Breakfast Cookies
Ingredients:
3 cups oats
2 medium bananas
just under 1/3 cup olive oil
1/3 tsp salt or to taste
1/3 to 1/2 cup dates (pitted)
2/3 cup toasted almonds or any other nut you like (optional)
2/3 cup carob chips (optional)
Directions:
1. Mix oats and salt. Add olive oil and mix well.
2. In a blender, mix bananas and dates until well blended and smooth. You can add a little brown rice syrup or maple syrup if you want them sweet.
3. Add banana mixture to the oats and blend well. Add nuts and carob if you like. Let stand for half an hour.
4. On an ungreased cookie sheet, form cookies (they will not spread or change at all with baking, so make them nice!) ;)
5. Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for 12-15 min.
Can make about 24 cookies, unless a bigger cookie is desired.

My daughter eats just about anything (except potato, unless in fries form!), my son is a little more fussy. One of his favourite things is pizza topped with tomato paste, black olives and pineapple, he'll eat a whole pizza if he is allowed! I usually make my own wholemeal crust.
His most favourite dinner in the world (known, inexplicably, as Creamy Gee's) is this:
-1 packet pasta (spirals work well)
-1 Tblsp oil
-half a medium head of cauliflower, chopped into florets
-1 small head of broccoli, chopped into florets
-3 Tbsp oil
-1 medium onion, chopped
-2 cloves garlic, crushed
-1 stock cube or 2 tsp stock powder
-a quarter cup of flour
-2 cups soymilk (the more bland kinds work better, as opposed to creamy vitasoy types)
-3 cups chopped mushrooms
salt and pepper to taste
* cook pasta till tender but firm. Drain and toss in 1 T oil to prevent sticking. Steam broccoli and cauli for a couple of minutes, they should still be firm and sharp in colour. Drain and add in a big casserole or large baking dish to the pasta.
Sauce: Heat 3 T oil and saute onion and garlic till transparent. Stir in flour. Remove from heat, stir in part of milk till smooth, return to heat (low) and stir in rest of milk gradually while stirring. Add mushrooms, stock, salt and pepper. Sauce should start to thicken. Combine all ingredients in the casserole dish, season to taste, and bake 350F (180C) for about 30 minutes, till bubbling and browning on top.
Yum! This is worth the trouble, it actually tastes really cheesy too.

My kids absolutely love this recipe as do I! My 10 year old son just asked me to make this the other night. How could I refuse. :) It is very high in protein as well. You will be amazed at how wonderful these turn out!
Vegan Barbecue Ribz
Ingredients:
* 2/3 cup of water
* 2 Tbl spoons soy butter
* 3 Tbl spoons peanut butter
* 8 Tbl spoons wheat gluten
* 7 Tbl spoons nutritional yeast
* 9 Tbl spoons whole wheat flour
* 1 cup BBQ sauce
* spices to taste (onion powder, garlic powder, paprika, etc)
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Heat soy butter and add the peanut butter, mixing it so that it's consistent throughout.
Mix the wheat gluten, nutritional yeast, wheat flower and spices in a dry bowl. Add the water and knead until almost all of the dry powder is absorbed. Do not over-knead. This dough is really sticky.
Form the dough into a flat shape about one-half inch thick. Add one-half of the peanut butter mixture to the top of the flattened dough. Use your fingers to poke the peanut butter mixture deeply into the dough. Do this for about 30 seconds. Turn the dough over and pour the remaining half of the peanut butter mixture onto the dough, again using your fingers to poke into the dough.
Use a pizza cutter to cut one-half inch strips of dough. Make them as long or as short as you like them. Lay out on a lightly oiled baking pan. Bake for about 10 minutes.
After 10 minutes, use a spatula to turn the "ribs" over. Spoon or brush on BBQ sauce and return to the oven.
Bake for another 5 minutes. Remove and turn the ribs over again. Spoon or brush on some more BBQ sauce.
Bake for another 5 minutes. Remove and enjoy your hot, sweet and sticky "ribz!"
Makes enough for four.
Comments: Wheat gluten is high in protein (80% by weight, I think), so combined with whole wheat flour, this dish can offer up quite a bit of protein in one meal. I'm not a nutritionist, but I belive this to be correct.

just bumping this thread back to the top for the breakfast cookies recipe
ETA I just made these and whoa are they yummy! (I used just a little maple syrup to help the bananas and dates blend in the blender. Probably about a Tbsp)

Blinky---I have been looking for a "ribs" recipe because buying it premixed is too expensive. I can't wait to try your recipe for my husband ( I know this is a kid's thread but he likes it!)
My only kid friendly contribution would be PB & J pizza, I posted about it in a pizza thread a while back. Just take your regular pizza dough, spread out peanut butter to cover like tomato sauce, keeping in mind the PB will "melt" a bit and spread thinner once it is cooked. Spread jelly over the PB like if it was cheese. Cook in a preheated oven 450 until the crust is browned and the jelly is bubbling and you think it has to be ruined. The PB will cool and "thicken" up again and the jelly is awesome cooked. We tried this once and made it everyday for a week!
