Hi Everyone. I've been posting for a few weeks now and want to come out and admit that I'm just a lowly ovo-lacto vegetarian (as is my family). I was vegan for 6+ years in my 20's but have fallen off the wagon in my 30's. I do consider myself in constant "transition" to veganism- but I'm certainly not there yet. Is it still okay to post here and feel welcome?

I am not all the way vegan yet either. I think most people on this board support people like us who are making efforts to reduce our consumption of animal products. I have always had good feedback from people whenever I had questions about stuff I am dealing with. I feel positive that the good people of this board will welcome you and be a great sounding board as you continue your transition. I have never felt unwelcome...just in awe of how so many people here are kind and helpful and commited to this lifestyle.

Hi I am still trying to cut down on all my animal based food products but half my trouble is trying to work out which foods in australia have which ingredients in - it gets even more confusing the further I go into it - I have been an ovo lacto for 17 years and am now trying to cut back further to vegan and am currently researching the dairy industry here for my milk consumption - I buy free range eggs good luck:)

Yes we are very tolerant here, no worries. The only kind of people we don't tolerate are the ones who lambast our lifestyle and are obvious trolls.
In my opinion, even those of us who are already vegan are still in transition towards a more compassionate lifestyle. There's always room for improvement.

I am vegan, but my husband and daughter are vegetarian. I think it's great when veggie (or omnis) come to a predominantly vegan place to hang out and chit chat respectfully. What better way to reinforce your values and have a support system for taking whatever steps you think are *next*? Plus, it's a magnificent way to obtain information on otherwise obscure facts. The people on this board are so knowledgeable (book learned, AND life experience). I can't think of a better place to be....veggie or not, here we come! :)
