Does anyone know if there are paper mache mixes that do not contain animal ingredients?

ok nevermind on the paper mache mix; I found a recipe for just flour water and paper. Duh! I guess I just assume anything that can have animal ingredients probably does.
But anyway this is why I asked... My family traditionally had this odd game we played at Easter where you use hard-boiled eggs and hit them off each other to see whose egg gets cracked. You hold the egg and collide your "skinny end" to your opponents "skinny end" or "fat end" to "fat end" and then you just take on another opponent until your egg is cracked on both ends. Whoever ends up with an intact egg at the end wins. Obviously this is not only vegan-unfriendly, but it's terribly wasteful as the eggs just end up in the garbage, since even the omnis don't want to eat a plain boiled egg that has shells cracked into it from multiple impacts.
Last year, we just didn't show up for the celebrations until dessert when the flesh fest and the egg contest were already finished.
But this year I'm hosting Easter celebrations, and I wanted to do a vegan version of our game. It occurred to me that if I used a thin paper mache and made egg shapes with it, that we could still crack them off each other in the traditional manner. Then I discovered that they actually make paper mache eggs for Easter at craft and specialty websites and stores. That would save me so much time, because I'm also celebrating the girls' birthdays on Easter and so I have a lot to plan for. But I'm wondering if the ones that are premade would be too durable and not crack break or dent at all if we smacked them into each other. Does anyone have experience with paper mache eggs and how sturdy they are?

i would guess that the store bought paper mache eggs would be somewhat durable. you may want to buy a package and see for yourself by playing a test game with your dh or some of your friends.
otherwise, i'm sure your oldest and some of his friends would LOVE to make a mess with that flour and water paste. (in elementary school, paper mache was one of my FAVORITE art class projects.)
