I'm not looking to find a date or anything, but it seems if I ever meet other vegans, they're female. I've met one vegan guy (about 20 yrs. old) and several vegetarian ones.
I guess I'm just wondering if 16 year old boys are just unable to do without eggs and dairy.
Anyway... if that isn't the case, let me know.
... if it is the case...
Everyone have a great day anyway.
Katherine

haha, you gotta move to syracuse...
most of the vegetarians/vegans here are into the hardcore music scene, and a TON of our hardcore "kids" are vegan/vegetarian. we do have some vegans/vegetarians in their 20s and 30s, but there's also a lot of teens who are too.
go to some hardcore/punk music shows in your area. peta usually has a table at the more popular bands' shows. or definately check out warped tour this summer. peta will definately be there, and you'll definately see some vegetarian/vegan guys there.
oh, and check out something like peta2.com because they have a section on bands who are vegan/vegetarian, and most of the band members are guys.
however, some people dont wise up till they go to college and then become vegetarian/vegan then. it may be because of the whole show that everyone has to put on to fit in while in high school.

I've been a meber of peta and peta2 for two years & a guitarist my whole life.
Thanks for the advice, but I'm far too much of an individual to ever go to another 'hardcore','punk', warped tour kind of thing again.
Half of those kids calling themselves vegetarians and vegans wear leather shoes for God's sake. They're so unfashionable and street that they've become the style. They're too stylish. It's ridiculous.
How about vegan guys that never wear leather shoes and don't spend the majority of their time skating?
Anyway, thanks.

Hi Katherine,

I'm afraid vegan guys are in short supply everywhere. When my vegan friend was living in Australia, he was just mobbed with vegan girls who were so excited to meet a vegan guy. (Of course he ended up with an omnivore who "converted" LOL and is now a very firm vegetarian who eats mostly vegan at home.)

Katherine - I can't promise that it will get easier as you get older, either! I can't remember the last time I met a vegan guy - so be open minded. Maybe if you can't find someone who is vegan, you can find someone who shares your views on other areas and will at least respect the fact that you are vegan (and will support your veganism, too).

I don't know any vegan guys, but two of my guy friends are huge supporters of my vegan diet.

But maybe you can find a guy who isn't vegan and bring him over to "our side" (that's what I did). The more we bring over, the better! (even if it is only part way over).

I was lucky enough to find a vegetarian boyfriend, and we made the transition to vegan together. Definitely if you're into punk and hardcore check out those shows and look by the PETA table and there will definitely be guys there. A lot of straight edge kids are vegan too, and the majority of them are guys. But yeah, they're out there. Try networking here or on the PETA2 boards, etc. and see who you can find. Throw a vegetarian potluck in your area and see who comes. Flyer it around major colleges and high schools, etc.

It's very hard to find a vegan GF in NY...let alone a vegetarian.
