Does anyone have suggestions for a vegan alternative to lanolin/Lanisoh for chafed/dry nipples? (I'm just thinking ahead--this isn't an immediate concern.)
Thanks!

100% pure vitamin E oil. My lactation consultant said that would be fine if I did have chapped nipples but fortunately, never happened. She stressed the importance of not washing the nipples with soap in order to prevent the chapping and I did that which might have helped.

Breast milk, and let it dry on there.
That's what the LC told me when I asked about non-lanolin alternatives and what do you know.. it worked for me.

I put soaked, cooled black tea bags on my nipples and it worked pretty well.

I mostly just rub a little milk on them when we're finished and that's fine. On the rare occasion that they've been a bit sore I've used some stuff from Gerber. Not sure if it's 100% vegan but it is lanolin free. I used a little lanolin in the hospital (they gave me a sample tube and they couldn't give it to anyone else anyway so it would have been wasted) and it's horrible stuff. Stinky and sticky and not even as effective as the gerber nipple balm.
