as i new b starting my journey as a vegan i wondered if you guys use tofu and soya milk freely and still have good sucess wth health weight loss maybe or should i stick to basic veganism to start with and the other way round start off with everything on offer the decrease.

Honestly, the thing which has made a difference for me in weight loss was simply eating less. It helps to eat healthy things, but overall, the key has been having one serving instead of two, having smaller servings, and waiting until I was truly hungry to eat (as opposed to eating when it was time for dinner).
I'm not sure what you mean by basic veganism, though, since tofu and soya products are often (or usually) part of a basic vegan diet.

I agree, I have recently lost over 30 pounds just by watching portion sizes, and making sure I eat breakfast (that way I'm not ravenous and eat too many things too quickly).

I'm the opposite. If I eat in the morning, I'm hungry all day. If I don't break fast until noonish, I can eat smaller portions to satisfaction, and not snack.

I used not to have breakfast, and very rarely had lunch, then I would go home after work and snack and snack whilst I was making dinner.:o Then I would eat a huge meal. No wonder I put weight on.

I think tofu is a great food for weight loss, especially the reduced fat kind. It fills you up and gives you tons of energy. I think the most important factor with tofu is how it's prepared-- fried tofu is going to be calorie heavy, but I drain, marinate and then grill mine on my snazzy nonstick grill pan and it rocks. It even gets crispy on the outside, yum.
I also eat a ton of fruits and veggies and beans-- not very calorie-dense but tons of fiber to fill me up! And I avoid sugar and dried fruit like the plague and try to be moderately light on the bread.
