This is about Joanne Stepaniak's new book.

Now I am a fan of almost everything she has written, and keep in mind that I haven't read this new one. BUT, does it concern anyone else that she is offering advice on raising children and has chosen to be child-free, therefore providing her with no day-to-day experience actually raising vegetarian children?

I haven't really considered even buying this book because of this. I know that I thought I knew a lot more about raising a child before I had a child, you know?

I was just wondering what other people thought about this.

I wondered this myself. How much experience can a person bring to a book like that when they don't have children?

I haven't read the book yet, so I don't know what advice she offers.

That was something I considered carefully when I wrote my book, Raising Vegan Children in a Non-Vegan World. I didn't want it to be clinical, medical, and all nutritional because there are a lot of books out there like that already for vegans. I wanted to give parents real, practical advice and tons of options for how to handle the situations that are going to come up.

Now, my child is only 3, so it was important to me to research how other families with older kids handled all these challenges. That's why I spent a lot of time interviewing vegan families to find out how they have solved these problems in real life. My book contains little snippets/quotes from a bunch of real parents with advice for many of the situations brought up in the book.

If you haven't already, you can learn more about the book at www.vegfamily.com/raising-vegan-children (http://www.vegfamily.com/raising-vegan-children/index.php?src=forumpost) and buy it right here online through VegFamily. :)
