FEBRUARY 20-23, 2003 - 4-DAY WHOLE HEALTH SEMINAR. This event kicks off with a vegan banquet and Howard Lyman (www.madcowboy.com), former cattle rancher-turned-vegetarian, as keynote speaker. Mr. Lyman's most well known appearance was on the Oprah Winfrey Show in 1996—an appearance that led him to become a co-defendant in a food disparagement lawsuit filed by Texas cattle ranchers. Mr. Lyman has since become a complete vegan and is the founder of Voice for a Viable Future, a non-profit education organization promoting organic family gardening, biodiversity, vegetarianism, environmentally friendly practices and enlightened trade. He has also authored a book entitled, Mad Cowboy: Plain Truth from the Cattle Rancher Who Won’t Eat Meat. Just visited the website and it sounds great! I looked through some of the links there as well and got to vegan.com where you can download a book for free at the bottom left side of the screen. So far i just read the forward by Howard Lyman and what he is doing is amazing--reaching so many people about veganism yet coming from his background it really would have an impact. Thanks again for the link!!:)
