Last night I was working on the computer and the TV was on in the background. I had flipped to the Food Netowrk for no reason. "Easter Unwrapped" was on, and it was a pretty good show (aside from none of the foods featured being vegan...)
Anyway, suddenly, there was a segment on-- what else?-- eggs. This I had to see. They showed rows upon rows of hens, stacked atop one another in cages. The host explained how they use light to make the hens lay eggs. There were so many lies-- like how they only showed the "healthy-looking" hens. Also, they used euphamisms and corny jokes to explain away the utter horror I felt looking at this.
It was not an exposee of factory farms. It promoted eggs, calling them the ultimate "comfort food".
What is wrong with this picture??
