Are the mono and diglycerides found in my wheat bread the same that are listed in the Animal Ingredients list? Thanks so much.

It's very hard to know. What is the brand name of your bread?

You may have to call the company and ask them if their bread contains any animal derived ingredients. If they give you a vague answer, get the name of the person you're speaking to and say, "Julie... I really appreciate your help with this. I would hate to find out that this bread had animal products in it and that you were responsible for telling me it was okay to eat. I mean, I might have to sue the company or something. Now how do you spell your name?" Or something to that effect. ;)

Ha! That's so smart! I'll have to use my deep and serious voice for that. My normal voice is not all that intimidating. I would really hate to find out that these are the same ingredients. The bread is just a store brand from Food City. Food Club, I think it's called. I noticed that the bag says "Light Wheat" and not "Whole Wheat." Would changing to whole wheat fix this? I was so anal about checking all of my foods when I became vegan, but I let the bread slip and I've been eating a slice or two every day. I'm very disappointed in myself
