I like the following:

The Pregnancy Sourcebook (can't remember author)
Parenting Guide to Pregnancy (Spencer)
The Pregnancy Book (sears)
Gentle Birth (can't remember author)

And I like the breastfeeding book put out by La Leche League, though the name escapes me. Anyone?

Hi! I have really only used What To Expect When You're Expecting. This is the only book I have thoroughly read. It is well known, and not vegan oriented, but there is mention of the best foods to eat as a vegetarian, and as a vegan. This is nice to see as it is geared to everyone. I like it for general information about what will be happening at the stages of pregnancy, and for a quick reference. I wouldn't mind checking out some other books, but I don't feel the need to especially since this is my second pregnancy!
Take care!!

Ah yes, I wanted to add Active Birth by Janet Balasakas to the list. Great for positions to assume during labor that help bring the baby into position.

I liked The Wise Woman Herbal for the Childbearing Year.

It has some good herbal remedies for thrush, breast engorgement/infections, & things to induce labor. My water broke with my second daughter, but no contractions. My midwives wanted to induce via pitocin if I didn't go into labor on my own w/in 12 hrs or so. I had done that with the first & it was awful, so I tried some of the herbs that they recommended & contractions started almost immediately. My daughter was born 15 hrs or so later.

I also like the Nursing Mother's Companion.

I can't remember the authors for either book!

I would like to add A Good Birth A Safe Birth, I believe by Diana Korte. Also Gentle Birth Choices, (author???) it also has a good video. The Bradley Method Books have some good info in them.
For those who have had a c-sec, Silent Knife (author???) is a great read!!!

We took Bradley Birthing classes, so we read through the work book, which was very helpful. We also loved Husband Coached Childbirth, and The Breastfeeding Book by Dr. Sears.
