Has anybody tried it yet? (Erin?)

I'm anxious to know how it tastes! :)

Is this the same as the Vegan Gourmet (made by Listen to your heart)? I noticed that their web site does have angelfire or something on it.

Anyway, if it is the same stuff, I did notice Erin or someone mentioned their cheese somewhere on the boards & I have ordered some. I haven't gotten it yet (they will be overnighting it sometime soon), but will let you know how it is once I get it.

Unfortunately, their production levels are not high enough yet for my local health food store to carry it, b/c it is truly expensive to order on-line. Most of the vegan cheeses that I have tasted are fairly gritty and greasy in texture.

I used to eat the Soy Kaas which does have casein (for a few years), but developed a really bad allergy to casein. A GI doc was convinced that I had ulcerative colitis. I insisted on RAST tests for allergies b/c my blood work looked like more of an allergy than IBD, & cut out the casein when it came back as a "significant" allergy. Symptoms disappeared in 4 days :).

But I digress... sorry! Let me know how you like the cheese if you try it, too!

I just sampled Angel's cheddar at the Natural Products Expo. It's fantastic! They were giving out pizza samples with a cheddar/mozarella mix. It was so yummy.

She gave me a brick of cheddar to take home and I made a pizza here with it with equally amazing results. I'm so excited. The cheddar smells and tastes like cheddar and melts well (of course).

They will soon be appearing in more stores around the country. The demand is high and they are stepping up their production efforts.

I'll bet it tastes good as a mac and cheese too, but haven't treid that yet. We live near Follow Your heart so we get the cheese all the time. :D

I am SO jealous! I doubt I'll ever get to taste this legendary cheeze, unless they start exporting it to this part of the world. :(

Oops - Follow your Heart, not Listen to your Heart. I knew that it was something like that. So this is the same cheese, I assume?

My grandmother lives in Canoga Park. I'll have to come visit her to try the cheese & restaurant :)!

The Follow Your Heart cafe is wonderful. We eat there sometimes 3 times a week. And they have a deli case where you can get some pre-made foods like macaroni and potato salad and more.

Christa... yeah, the same cheese!

I want this cheese SO bad. I think it was something like 25 dollars to send two bricks to my house in MI. I'll be waiting, impatiently of course, for it to come my way. I've already had my Kroger contact them about distriution there.

I finally got my order of a couple of different kinds of their cheese. Yes, it was outrageously expensive, but I thought that I would splurge once & try it out.

I may be the only one, but I actually don't much care for any of the flavors (I got 3 different kinds). I have to admit that it is better than the vegan cheeses that I have tasted in the past, but that isn't saying much. The main problem that I had was that they were all watery & kind of "silky" in consistency when cold & when you heat them to melt, they first turn into some clumpy solid stuff floating in a lot of grease. It does eventually emulsify when you heat it to a high enough temp, but it still struck me as greasy & not all too great.

I would probably buy it occassionally if it was available locally, but definately would not pay the shipping charge again. I do love the Vegan mayo by the same company, though. It is great in macaroni salad & on artichokes.
