My 4 y/o likes "Victor the Vegetarian: Saving the baby lambs." I ordered it on-line b/c I couldn't find it in any bookstores locally. I can't remember the author's name, but will go dig it out of my daughter's books if you can't find it w/out the author.

i think thats the name of this book my dughter has had for a long time. its one of those thick cardboard page books. its a really old book and im sure its out of print but it goes something like
parrot told snake
snake told bear
bear told lion
lion told tiger
tiger told mouse
mouse told elephant
then they all told the hunter......
GO HOME!!!
it has the pictures of the jungle animals all chasing a hunter out of the jungle. its really cute and my daughter has always loved it.

Cool, I didn't know those books were around! Where did you find the "Victor the Vegetarian: Saving the baby lambs"?
For baby/toddler age, I have one I plan to order called "Animal kisses" by Barney Saltzberg (we like this author's other books) It looks like a cute touch/feel book.
For ages 4-8 "Victor's picnic with the vegetarian animals", by Radha Vignola.
I think, there's a book called "Cow's are vegetarians" for kids a little older.

I got Victor the Vegetarian from the PETA website, I think, but you can also order it from Amazon.com & probably other places. Victor's Picnic with the Vegetarian Animals is the sequel to Victor the Vegetarian - I got that one, too. They are by the same author.

For those of us who like free :), Rocky Mountain Animal Defense has a kids' book about veganism that you can download & print out from their web site. It is called "What do you eat, if you don't eat meat? And other questions kids frequently ask" It is pretty cute with a bunch of color cartoons of animals saying "yea, I'm saved", etc. It explains gently what vegans eat & wear & why.
You can find this "book" at:

That is so adorable! Thanks for posting the link.
We're selling a new book that's very suitable for vegan toddlers. The Organic Adventures of Tucker the Tomato (http://www.vegfamily.com/tucker/index.php?src=forums).
It teaches kids the difference between organic and conventional (pesticide) tomatoes. It's wonderful!
