Calcium

Hi, I'm wondering if Calcium fortified OJ is vegan or not. For some reason, I thought that the calcium carbonate/calcium suppliment was made out of some animal product, and so i haven't had it since I've become vegan. However, I haven't been able to find out where the calcium ingredient comes from. Can anyone help? Thanks :)

I believe the calcium in fortified OJ is vegan, at least I have assumed so for years. This question came up before on the old board. Was that you who brought it up? We've got to call the company that makes the OJ and ask them directly. I'll try calling Minute Maid or Tropicana and see what they say.

Okay, I called Minute Maid and Tropicana. They both use vegan calcium in their products. It's from limestone or ore, they both said.
