I have been vegan for about two years, and recenlty I have been very tired and achy...I have been to the doctor and all of my tests come back fine (thyriod etc.) I exercise everyday (ride bike, rollerblade, walk, lift). I have heard alot about potential problems with too much soy, but researching find contridictary aritcles...anyone know the fact and could too much soy be making me tired and achy?

I haven't heard about soy causing those problems, but then I haven't done much research on it. I'm sure others here can tell you more. I don't know what tests the doctor gave you, but did they rule out anemia? Lyme disease? I had the first when I got lazy with my diet (even though I knew better; just stopped thinking about it) & got low on iron --easy to fix. Someone in my family got Lyme disease (from tick bite) & the doctor didn't check for it until waaay too late, so now she has lingering problems that will never go away. So if there is ANY chance of that, please MAKE your doctor treat it right away. How long have you been feeling this way though? Could be allergies, depression, any number of things (I know this doesn't help!). Can you think of any little thing that happened or changed? Even a new mattress or pillow or something could make you feel bad. But I'll stop rambling, since I guess your question was mostly about the soy issue, which I really am useless for. Hope you feel better soon.

I know the original post is old now..but wanted to chime in..tired and achy are also symptoms of a yeast infestation. (not exactly a yeast infection..but more a gut/intestinal thing..an over abundance of yeast in the body can cause many aches (associated w/ arthritis ) as well as being linked to alzheimers and many other debilitating diseases. Fascinating reading..if interested I can try to scrounge up some online.
