Whooping Cough

A friend has just told me her kids have whooping cough. She thinks
they have it partly because they all had a viral infection a few
weeks ago that weakened their bodies. We were with them on Wednesday,
before we knew. I hope mine don't get it. I'm giving Pertussin 30c
and logically thinking, we were all at a park, not confined to a
house and only one of hers had a cough then, and after asking my kids
and their Dad, they confirm they weren't too near to Casey(boy with cough) and didn't
see him cough. Fingers crossed. Mine are also having echinacea and
vit. c. Any advice on herbs etc. to help my friend and her kids or
other preventative measures? Anyone's kids had it??

How stressful for you! I know what it's like as my father got whooping cough a couple of years ago and my kids had been round at his place when he was contagious. I rang my doctor, who specializes in anthropsophical medicine, and his basic advice was that if they were going to get it they would and I couldn't really prevent it. He said the older the child the easier they deal with whooping cough, it affects babies the worst. Anyway, after all my worrying my children never got it, even though they had been in close contact with my dad. Hope your kids don't get it either.
