You know the little envelope icons on the far left of each message saying whether there have been any new posts since you last visited? I don't think it is working for me- it either says that there are no new posts for every single thread on the forum, or it says they ALL have new messages, and I know neither of these are accurate. Anyone else having the same prob? Also, I have found the little black dots that mark which threads I have participated in are extremely helpful, but they don't show up every time I access the Forums. How come? Is it the board or just my crazy 'puter? I can deal with these weird little glitches, though, because overall these new forums are working awesome! Oh, yeah, one more Q- what's PHP?? Thanks!! :)

PHP is a programming language. The old boards were in perl. This is php. Better, stronger, faster.

The envelopes: Each time you log onto the message board it says, "Oh, Robin's back." and shows you the yellow icons for forums that have posts you haven't seen yet. But if you don't read those messages, then leave, then come back, the envelope will say you read those messages even when you haven't.

The best thing to do is hit "View new posts" when you arrive at the site, in the upper right corner. It will show you only those posts that are new for you.

Then when you're done reading all the ones you want to, you click "mark all forums read" on the main page. That tells the board you're done.

The black dots show you what threads you've posted in so you can track the conversations you're already involved in. Was that your question or did I misunderstand that one?
