First Visit

Hi - my wife are I are taking our first trip to the OB/GYN this Thursday to see if she is pregnant. Her EPT was positive and we want to make sure. :)

I've heard all the 'horror' stories a lot of you seem to go through with your doctors, and was wondering if anyone has any pearls of wisdom you could share with us. She knows that we're vegan and my wife told her that we have books on vegan pregnancy and she's interested in reading them. Guess that's a good sign.

Congratulations! My only "pearl of wisdom" is something I expect you already practice, since you're vegan:) Listen to the recommendations, read about them, and in the end, follow your heart.

How exciting!

Put a lot of broccoli in the house. A romaine lettuce salad every day works wonders too. Watch out for morning sickness. Lots of fruit, stir fries, protein too.

IT'S OFFICIAL....WE'RE PREGNANT :) :)

Just came back from the doctor and found out the good news. This is our first child and we're very excited. Our doctor is totally okay with a vegan diet. I brought a Vegetarian Pregnancy book and had photocopied the nutritional info from the book and gave it to her. She said she was grateful for the info and was looking forward to reading it.

We also discussed which multiple vitamin would be the best. We're both currently taking Solgar's Omnium Iron-free but we decided that Solgar's Pre-natal would be best since it's got more folic acid and calcium, and of course more iron.
