Please boycott Heifer Project

How do you think about this sickening project?
I was shocked to find out that Humane Society of United States supports this cruel project to maximaize farm animal suffering.
Heifer Project is all about sending farm animals to poor countries where there is no humane law to protect these animals from cruel treatment and neglect.

What do you expect? the humane society and the aspca think nothing of rescuing fluffy puppies and kitties but they, like the rest of the american populace, don't think farm animal suffering "counts".

my local humane society recently shot on their property three penned-in pot-bellied pigs with buck shot because they weren't adopted by a certain alloted time. humane societies are strange, strange places. maybe it's because they deal with so much misery and death. i don't know.

Well maybe they've changed but last I checked they gave animals to individual families who have strong incentive to care for the animals properly. Not everyone can be vegan, there are areas where foods like meat and milk are necessary to avoid malnutrition, famine and other very bad things. It's better to give a family a cow or a goat than a barrel of vegetables. They can use the milk for their families, share the calves or kids with other families, and use them for meat once they're too old for milk.

It's not like they're sending animals to factory farms. They're doing it to feed people.
