What pregancy books do you all recommend? I read What to Expect... since it seemed, well expected.

There seem to be a lot of books out there but I'm looking for more detailed, more progressive, honest books.

Also, what's the best vegarian pregnancy book (not vegan).

Thanks!!!

Do a search on Amazon for vegetarian pregnancy and see what comes up. There aren't any books dedicted to vegan pregnant except one that is currently out of print.

That may all change soon though... ;)

There is a new book called "Your Vegetarian Pregnancy" by Dr. Holly Roberts. I ordered it from Amazon, but I recently saw it at Barnes & Noble. It came out last May, so it's pretty up to date. Good Luck!

Check out some of the LLL books on pregnancy and breastfeeding - one that comes to mind is The Womanly Art of Breastfeeding. Not veggie, but good info:)

i have 'vegetarian pregnancy' by sharon yntema, it has lots of stories, excercises, lots of good stuff in it.

i've read 'vegetarian mother and baby book' by rose elliot. lot of 'technical' information in it on nutrition but what i really liked was the sample meal plans and recipes! it's good.

also, i have 'new vegetarian baby' by sharon yntema and christine beard. i haven't started reading it yet but it looks promising. there's sections on pregnancy as well.

hope that helps

I like the Sheila Kitzinger pregnancy books. They are not vegetarian as such but have some great info.

I like the Girlfriends guides. I don't agree with everything they say, but there's a sense of humor about them that I appreciate. I wouldn't rely on them solely, but they're good for a chuckle.
