Hello everyone

Hi,

I've been a member for a little while and thought this would be a good time to post an intro. I'm Michelle, from Australia. I've recently become vegetarian again and in a couple of months, plan on taking the step back to being vegan. I'm taking the few months to slowly adjust my system back and to gather some great recipes again.

I'm 40, live with my wonderful partner and I currently work from home running my own skincare business, though in a couple of weeks I'm going to return to child care part time. We are also planning on having our first bub in a year's time and I would love so much to create a little vegan bub, from conception to birth (and after). Well, half vegan anyway, my partner isn't.

So that's me saying hi.

Hi Michelle,

Glad you decided to start posting! And congrats on returning to a veggie lifestyle. My husband and I are planning on our own bub in the next year or so and are planning it to be vegan as well. I've gotten some good advice about planning for veganism in the hospital, if we don't do a homebirth or need to go anyway.

How are you finding it in Australia? Our best friends are vegan and vegetarian and from Australia although they live here right now, and they complain that when they are there is it hard to find vegan processed foods like vegan mayonaise, etc.

Hello!

I'm very new here too. I'm so glad to have found this forum.

I don't know any vegans in my area and it's hard sometimes to live out your convictions with no support. I find myself on the defensive alot with family and friends who refuse to educate themselves about health and nutrition but asume the S.A.D. is healthy.

My husband too is a me*t eater and we have had some heated debates about the kids being vegan. I like to think I'm slowly making progress as I have not purchased any non-vegan groceries for my husband or kids for the past couple of months. Keep your fingers crossed for me.

I wish you luck with your vegan conception and pregnancy!

Hi Mishkin!

I'm fairly new here as well, extremely new if you've seen some of the other members' start dates.

Glad you are here!

I also want to say hi to Crunchychristian!

Nice to meet you both!

And my man is not completely convinced either, although he says he is vegetarian. he is in my house anyway and I haven't seen him eat any meat outside of the house.

(not that I'm ignoring you pikkumyy, I know you have already seen me around)

Hello back to everyone

Pikkumyy, there are places where these things can be found, it depends on where they are staying though, as some states are much more vegan-friendly than others and certainly, the city is much easier than the country.

I would suggest they take a look at an Aussie website called vegan perfection, as they import vegan products from around the world. Your friends could order from them and get the stuff delivered to whomever they were going to stay with.

Michelle
