To Sheree
Be careful when you shop. The Rella company makes other soy cheeses called "Tofu-Rella," and many places carry that product. Tofu-Rella contains casein.
If your grocery store carries only Tofu-Rella, speak to the manager about ordering Vegan-Rella as well!!

Hi Vow
Yes, that's why I no longer purchase tofu-rella. I used to use it before I was vegan.
Thanks for all the tips! Much appreciated.

See I don't find Vegan Rella to be that great on pizza because it is runny when it comes out of the oven and then hardens. It does not have that cheese texture or feel. I cannot eat it cold and I love cold pizza. I stick to pizzas without cheese for the most part and only use Vegan Rella on occasion. At $5 a pop (plus tax) I can't afford to use it frequently.

Dh much prefers vegan rella over soymage vegan chunk for taste and texture, but when I'm making pizza or lasagna, I use the soymage. Don't wait for it to melt though, it will brown if its on top.

I've been eating no-cheese pizza for ages it seems. I always get weird looks, but never had anyone refuse to make it.
There's a really good veggie pizza at a Z-Pizza near me - I could've sworn it was called "Killer Vegan" on the menu...
http://www.zpizza.com/locations.html
Here at their website it says Killer Veggie. Might be worth it to zip them an email to see if it is truly vegan. It is really tasty!

my favorite soy cheese for pizza is vegan gourmet's monteray jack style... for the record.
someone several posts ago said that little ceasars pizza was not vegan. IT IS. If you go to their website they have a whole section on vegetarianism that is quite nice. Their crazy bread and sauce is too (if you order the bread w/out the parm).
papa johns crust and sauce is vegan.
dominos crust is not. all of their crusts contain dairy.
depending on where you live there are some great places that make vegan pizza. austin tx has a pizza place called the parlor that has vegan cheese and vegan pepperoni and chik'n. Norfolk Va. has a place called Bella Pizzaria that has a great vegan cheese pizza. YUM!

Pizza!
Wholefoods (at least the one in Edgewater, NJ) has a new pizza bar. They have the best vegan pizza! Mushrooms, spinach and an amazing tomato sauce. It was the best! Even if I was not vegan I would have preferred this over the cheese. I gave up on pizza, I really cannot stand vegan cheese, it's just not worth eating in my opinion.

When I was in the Wholefoods in Columbus Circle, I asked them for this pizza and they said they were not making it that day. I guess they vary their menu. I hope you get to try it someday! It was soooo good!
Maybe call ahead and ask if they can make it?
