State College, PA

Hi! We are not that close to you, but are in PA! Have you met anyone else closer??? I don't know any other vegan families around us, but have met some folks with similar values associated with attachment parenting and whole food groups. Maybe that's an avenue you could persue?
I've also been lucky enough to come upon a group of friends whose kids were all born the same year as my son and who are very open to vegan foods. Although I am the only vegan in a group of 7 moms, some of our potlucks end up entirely vegan! and this weekend there will be a vegan cake at one of the non-vegan-little boy's b-day party!!! Wow, just writing that made me think I really need to thank these folks! A lot of times I feel like I should do more to spread the vegan message (to family, friends, etc.), but I guess our choices have had some impact!

wow, i thought this site would be more active. unless i am still in the dark about how to use it, it seems that you and i are almost the only people who have posted lately. it took me awhile to realize that i was responding to folks who wrote in months or years ago! oops. do you know of any other resources that are more active? i'm beginning to think my vegan bubble has been burst! a few years ago we moved to a college town thinking there would be tons of vegans around...nope...now even a national vegan website barely gets any attention....i think i need a trip to farm sanctuary to feel like we are not alone!

I didn't even realize at first that you weren't in Gettysburg, but State College area. It does seem to be slow at times, but then it'll pick up. I guess everyone is busy with spring almost here. I was on my space for abit and there are a couple of groups on there that are active. I just didn't have the time to go in there too and check there threads and it became too overwhelming when I did go in.

sorry you're not in Gettysburg, I would be up for a road trip.

Christine
