Goodness, Good news is everywhere!

Hello everyone! I'm new to this board, although I have been a Vegfamily fan for quite a while now. Hubby and I have been trying to get pregnant for over two years, and just last month I got the news I wanted, I'm pregnant!

I calculate that I am at about 6 weeks now, and I have my first Dr. Apt. on the 25th. I feel great, just a little tired at night.

We will beging telling our family this weekend (and I know it is REALLY early) but we just can't wait to tell them. We always were terrible at keeping secrets. I am trying to prepare myself for the barrage of questions about my vegan diet and this pregnancy - esp. from the parents. I have been a vegetarian for 13 years, and vegan for the past two. I feel great and look foward to a heathly vegan pregnancy!

I'm starting to get paings of worry about getting enough calcium, protien etc, even though I know I shouldn't worry - I'm taking pre-natals and folic acid just to be safe. Is anyone else out there taking supplements, like calcium, or others during thier pregnancy?

I look forward to "virtually" meeting everyone and with everyone the best of luck for our vegan babies!

Lisa

Yes, it is really amazing, I was totally not expecting to be ++++++!

I had even just made an apt. with an OB/GYN to begin discussing fertility options - luckily I had to change that appointment!

congratulations, it is so wonderful to have so many pregnant vegans around.

What is your due date? I should start keeping a list so we can see who is going next...

Yay! Congratulations! I can't imagine how great it must feel after trying for so long. (And hopefully I won't find out either, as my husband & I will begin the endeavor this year!) In case you've missed some of the other threads & didn't already know, make sure you get your B12 every day!
