Question:

How do I get Omega 3's into my toddler?

Answer:

Like all other human beings, toddlers do need essential omega-3 fats. Nut butters, especially containing walnuts and/or pumpkin seeds, are rich sources of omega-3 fats. If this is not feasible for her to ingest, add a teaspoon of flaxseed oil or hempseed oil to gravies, sauces, smoothies, etc. Encourage intake of dark green leafy vegetables, as they also contain omega-3 fats. (For toddlers, try cooking the greens and blending/processing them with apple sauce). Also, review the question I answered regarding algal-derived DHA. Look for this product to appear in more foods - drinks, frozen foods, etc. - suitable for children and adults.
