Question:

If I get food poisoning while breastfeeding will my baby get it too? If so, is there any way I can prevent spreading the poison to her?

Answer:

Your baby won't get food poisoning unless bacteria from your fingers contaminate the nipple or the baby's lips. Such bacteria and viruses are spread through fecal/oral contamination. Wash your hands scrupulously after bowel movements and wash nipples before nursing.
