If you've never tried a Luna Bar from Clif Bar, you're in for a wonderful treat. I had the opportunity to try their 4 new flavors recently and each one was better than the next. Previously, Luna Bars came in the following 4 flavors: Lemon Zest, Chocolate Pecan Pie, Nutz Over Chocolate, and Toasted Nuts n' Cranberry. Added to the line are their 4 new flavors: Chai Tea, S'Mores, Sesame Raisin Crunch, and Tropical Crisp (the first bar to use a shredded topping; coconut). Each more innovative than the next.
The Luna Bars are vegan, delicious, and nutritious. "Each LUNA bar has just 170-180 calories, yet includes 23 vitamins, minerals and other nutrients that contribute to women's overall health and fitness. In addition to soy protein, the nutrients in LUNA include calcium for strong bones; 100 percent of daily folic acid needs for a healthy heart and healthy babies; B-vitamins; iron and antioxidants such as Vitamins A, C and E that contribute to overall wellness." Luna Bars are also made with non-GMO soy. A plus!
My personal favorite was the S'Mores variety, made with marshmellow-flavored soy nuggets. The Tropical Crisp was surprisingly refreshing; it was actually bursting with fresh fruit flavor (not sure how they did it!). The Chai Tea was tasty as well but my husband polished it off before I got much of it. Sesame Raisin Crunch was more nutty than sweet. I prefer the sweet ones.
Luna Bars are sold in natural food stores and samples can often be found at health expos. When you get a chance, I highly recommend you try several flavors, or get one of each and pick your favorite.
