Product ReviewsVegin' Out Holiday Cookie Tinswww.veginout.com Review by Cathe Olson
Nutritional chef Tim Boissy offers a weekly vegan meal delivery service-the only downside is that you have to be in LA to taste his wonderful meals. This November and December, however, anyone in the U.S. can sample his cooking-or at least his cookies. As a holiday special, Boissy is baking tins of homemade cookies that are 100 percent vegan, 100 percent organic and are baked fresh the day of shipping. Each tin contains a half dozen each of chocolate chip candy cane, oatmeal cranberry walnut, and snickerdoodles, for a total 18 cookies.
Article continues below I was very pleased with the cookies I sampled. They definitely looked and tasted homemade, much like cookies I would bake myself. They were fat and dense and thankfully not overly sweet like so many vegan cookies I've tried. My family loved the addition of candy canes to the chocolate chip cookies, which made them really festive and christmasy. The oatmeal cookies were crisp without being dry and full of flavorful spices like cinnamon and nutmeg. Our favorites were the snickerdoodles-crunchy and coated with cinnamon sugar-my kids gobbled them up. If you don't have time to bake this holiday season, Boissy's cookies definitely the next best thing. |
