Vegan Recipes - Side Dishes

Tart and Sweet Green Beans

Ingredients:
  • 1-1/2 pounds fresh green beans (or 2 10-oz. packages frozen)
  • 1 cup cider or apple juice
  • 1 Tablespoons vegan margarine
  • 1-1/2 Tablespoons flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar or other dry sweetener
  • 1 Tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 Tablespoon white vinegar
Directions:
Cook beans until done to taste.

Meanwhile, combine the remaining ingredients and cook over medium heat until thickened.

Pour over beans and serve.

Comments:
The sauce may be made ahead and reheated for later use.
