Why Did You Go Vegan?BiyenContrary to a lot of vegans, I didn't become a vegan because of any particular love for animals. Don't get me wrong, I didn't dislike animals, but I guess it never occured to me that it was a violation of the animal's rights to eat it. (Duh!) I decided to go vegan because I started educating myself about health. The more informed I became about health, the more I became convinced that animals and animal products had no place in the human body. FDA and Food Pyramid be damned! (No offense to anyone out there). I just knew that meat and animal products worked against the human body, and so therefore decided that humans must not naturally be carnivorous creatures. I mean, come on, we share none of the same traits as carnivores! No fangs for ripping flesh, no short digestive tract with powerful enzymes for breaking down raw meat, no instinct to catch our meat with our bare teeth and tear into it. What carnivores have to cook their meat, then season it (with vegetables, herbs and spices!) to be able to eat it.Read more stories If you found the information in this article helpful, please leave a donation for VegFamily or share it with others. |
