Why Did You Go Vegan?ChrystalI have been a vegetarian for about 13 years with the occasional return to eating chicken. I have always been a huge animal lover and while I was pretty informed about the abuse of animals both for meat and dairy consumption but I always felt that being a vegetarian was good enough. It wasn't until my daughter was about a year old and the issue of solid food was at hand. I knew I wanted her to be a vegetarian, but of course all I got was a dirty look from her pediatrition. So I decided to further educate myself on toddler nutrition and raising vegetarian children. Thank God for the internet. I bought and read "Raising Vegetarian Children" by Joanne Stepaniak, which I highly recommend. That book gave me the inspiration to become vegan and to raise my daughter vegan. So I searched some more and found the most wonderfully informative book..... "Raising Vegan Children in a Non-Vegan World" by Erin Pavlina. If you want information, thats where you're gonna find it. That book gave me soooo many ideas and set my mind at ease that I really was doing the right thing for my daughter, myself, ALL the animals and the enviornment.
