Why Did You Go Vegan?JessicaWell, I became vegan 5 years ago when I was 18. Growing up my family always forced me to eat what was being served. Even though the stuff being served was antibiotic ridden filth, I regretfully complied knowing that some day I could eat the way I wanted. Now, at 23 I have helped my husband choose a ecotarian lifestyle. He still eats wild game that he hunts, but no dairy. We try to only eat organic foods, but living in town in central Minnesota orgnic produce is really hard to find. So next summer we are moving out of town, getting a farm and starting a organic permaculture with a coulple of out closest friends. Also, we are planning on getting pregnant this fall!!!! I am so excited to start a family of good morals and low environmental impact. My husband supports my decision to have a fully vegan pregnancy. Although, I am a little worried about my families response and my doctor's. Oh well I guess we fight the battles we can win.Read more stories If you found the information in this article helpful, please leave a donation for VegFamily or share it with others. |
